SOUL for Development is a national NGO, founded in February 1997, by a group of Yemeni professionals out of their desire to achieve a higher quality of life for Yemeni women and children, and contribute to the development process of the nation. Since its establishment it has implemented programs and projects in health, nutrition, WASH, education, child rights, and youth empowerment. It is currently operating in Sana’a, Taiz, Aden, Hadhramawt, Al Hudaydah, Al Maharah, Socotra and Dhamar governorates.

Job Information

Job Title: Field Community Mobilizer (15).

Location: Taiz.

Contract Type: Full Time.

Contract Duration: 4 Months

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizing communities’ meetings, awareness sensitization and sharing project activities information.
  • Connect with and engage individuals and groups who approach societal problems in less conventional ways, in complement to or outside traditional civil society activities;
  • Connect the mapped initiatives and people with each other and coordinate for their mutual benefit e.g., when more than one group offer the same or complementary services;
  • Organize and participate in all project events (collaboration between the local government and communities, consultations with communities, mobilization of youth,);
  • Respond and adjust to a flexible activity scheduling, logistical constraints related to public space management, or social dynamics involving the community and its expectations;
  • Make the space visible and supply understanding of community when demands come in.
  • In liaison with the Project Manager plan of the project activities and provide day-to-day supervision of the activities at the sites level.
  • Work with the Project Manager and MEAL Officer in the field project data collection.
  • Work with the WASH assistant and project manager to ensure the construction works are done on time according the activity plan.
  • Work with the field coordinators to lead all community forums, including continuous progress updates within the community on the project activities, address early concerns and ensure the community participate the activities implementation.
  • Conduct regular community meetings in the project targeted communities.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Project Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree.
  • Experience in similar position is preferable.
  • Prior Training in M&E is an asset.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good command of using MS Office application.
